Join Our Team as a SOC Alarm Response & Investigations Controller
We are currently recruiting for a SOC Alarm Response & Investigations Controller (AR&IC) to join our client's Security Operations Centre (SOC) in Basingstoke. As the first point of contact for all physical security emergency escalations across the VE region, the AR&IC—alongside the VE SOC Lead—will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating real-time responses to incidents and alarms.
This is a dynamic and high-responsibility position requiring strong decision-making, leadership, and communication skills. You'll be responsible for monitoring and managing alarm systems, coordinating incident responses, directing security officers, and ensuring all actions are accurately escalated and thoroughly resolved.
Operating on a 24/7 shift rotation, you will take personal ownership of incidents from the moment of activation through to resolution—tasking appropriate resources, communicating with regional stakeholders, and maintaining detailed incident records. Additionally, you'll support out-of-hours security operations across the UK, providing guidance and ensuring compliance with service delivery standards.

About the Role:
- Act as the secondary point of contact for VE emergency escalations, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
- Monitor and operate security systems across the VE region, including IDS, IPS, SIEM, CCure, and Genetec.
- Support emergency communications and escalate critical issues to the SOC Lead.
- Manage site access and protect client assets using electronic and physical security measures.
- Maintain full awareness of all SOC processes, policies, and procedures.
- Complete accurate shift documentation and incident reports to a high standard.
- Respond swiftly to client and management requests and adapt to evolving operational needs.
- Conduct daily key audits and assist with access control across the region.
- Remotely monitor and manage security incidents 24/7, tasking on-site security teams as needed.
- Collaborate with physical security officers and stakeholders across Europe for incident resolution.
- Identify and report system or software faults affecting security operations.

What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in supporting the management of incidents with multi agency / stakeholder involvement.
- Ability to work in a systematic manner with an eye for detail
- Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly under pressure and hands-on experience in incident and crisis management
- Conversant with HR processes such as (investigations, disciplinary, staff welfare meeting) and roster management.
- Experience with using and managing the use of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools
- Demonstrate experience of operating as part of a global team based out of a technologically advanced control room with the ability to accurately and efficiently monitor and operate a variety of; integrated PC based security & CCTV systems
- SIA Licence
- First Aid at Work certificate
- Due to vetting requirements 5 year residency in the UK
