We are looking for a Security Supervisor to join us at our client site based in Central London. The site was originally built as the headquarters of the Post Office and is currently used as a storage and archive facility.

As a Security Supervisor at the site, you will be monitoring and operating the control systems and radio transmissions to help coordinate the security response at site.

A typical day in the life as a Security Supervisor:  

  • To be the initial point of contact for all daily operational matters.
  • Supervising daily shift operations to both meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Coordinate the management of physical security in accordance with client and customer expectations, policy and procedures.
  • Be responsible for all security activities & standards of all personnel, and ensure that all incidents are managed and responded to in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • To ensure that staff are briefed on SOP's & procedures that have been implemented or are due to be introduced.
  • Ensure all security personnel are fully informed / briefed in relation to both the AI's & the H&S documentation.
  • To provide effective support to the client's Incident Management representative and undertake incident management responsibilities as defined by the client.
  • Work in partnership with service partners and customers' representatives, ensuring all aspects of site Security are effectively managed.
  • To supervise the contract security personnel working in the locations and take responsibility for the professional conduct & development of the team.
  • Oversee the deployment of the Security Team by way of planning, co-ordination, and allocation of both duties and breaks, ensuring no position is left uncovered at any time.
  • Ensure that all staff work in safe conditions, acting upon all reports of accidents and faults and that staff carry out their duties in accordance with procedures and policies.
  • Ensure effective communication with and within the Security Team.
  • Play a proactive part in the control of staff turnover and effectively manage and reduce absence.

  • DS or SG SIA licence
  • Strong leadership abilities with previous experience in a supervisory role within a control room environment
  • Able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Proven reliability including an ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance
  • Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, being able to adapt style to meet the needs of the situation.
  • Self-motivated and able to maintain a high standard of personal presentation
  • An ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure.
  • A willingness to work cooperatively and constructively with both peer groups and the leadership provided by department supervisors and management.
  • An ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal reports.
  • A flexibility to work shifts including weekends
