About the Role:
As a Day Security Officer! you will be responsible for:
- Carry out security beat patrols throughout the Museum's 25 galleries and the Dana Centre as instructed by the Control Room Supervisor ensuring that all Museum collections and assets are secure.
- To actively support Health and Safety objectives by responding to all emergencies in accordance with procedure and to play an integral part in the safe evacuation of visitors, staff and contractors minimising risk
- Play an integral role in any emergency including evacuation, dealing with unsocial behaviour or first aid incidents..
- Investigate matters of concern reported by the Control Room.
- Provide a visible preventative security presence by patrolling galleries and concourse areas.
- To contribute toward the maintenance of a clean, welcoming environment for visitors – for example, by picking up litter, reporting or dealing with spillages, etc.
- Assist vulnerable visitors, e.g. lost children or children with special education needs, in a considerate and supportive manner.

What we are looking for:
- SIA Door Supervisor Licence
- Excellent customer service skills
- Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure
- Have an ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports where necessary
- Demonstrate reliability including the ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance in order to ensure team effectiveness and availability
- Demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team.
- Able to deal calmly and confidently with all demands from the public.
