We are looking for Plant Protection Officers to join us at our client site in Luton, who are a multinational automotive manufacturing corporation which has subsidiaries including Peugeot, Citroen and Chrysler. A typical day in the life as a Plant Protection Officer:  

  • Ensuring the building is safe and protected by carrying out periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
  • Controls access to site or facility through the admittance process; assists visitors with legitimate need to gain entry to the facility; screens visitors and employees in an efficient manner in order to expedite their admittance to the site or facility.
  • ·Conducts inbound/outbound package inspection and enforces client policy on imaging devices.
  • Provide an atmosphere in which all employees and visitors know that we respond to and care about their needs; providing a courteous respectful and pleasant interaction with each employee and visitor as perceived from their point of view; presents a good image of the client and the security department.  It's about going that extra mile to show people we care.
  • Monitor entrances and exits; acting to prevent unauthorised entry; control entrances, the movement of people and vehicles, and parking; operates gate and examines vehicle contents; monitor remote entrances using closed circuit television; and operate remote access devices.
  • Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions following procedures established for the site in line with your level of training.

  • Maintains any applicable licensing requirements for security officers.  
  • Demonstrates the ability to learn security operations and procedures.  
  • Ability to be an effective team member and carry out instructions.  
  • Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.  
  • Can drive a manual gearbox vehicle
  • Able to work with large heights 

Desirable

  • Fire Fighting experience at incipient level (early stage of a fire).
  • SG SIA Licence
  • CCTV SIA licence
