The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join Wilson James as a Logistics Operative within our Construction Logistics Space (CLS) team at Hinkley Point C.

As a Logistics Operative, you will play an important role in supporting logistics operations across the project. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the management of Vehicle Control Access Points (VCAPs)
  • Using electronic systems to check and manage bookings for construction delivery routes
  • Supporting vehicle movements within designated construction delivery areas once trained as a Traffic Marshal
  • Ensuring the safe use of pedestrian crossings for workers on site
  • Working closely with both blue and white-collar teams across the project
  • Helping to maintain a safe and efficient working environment

Training & Progression

The CPCS Traffic Marshal qualification, together with the associated HPC Safety Critical Medical, is an essential requirement of the CLS Logistics Operative role.

Wilson James will fund up to two attempts to complete the required training during your probationary period.

On successful completion of the CPCS Traffic Marshal qualification and HPC Safety Critical Medical, your hourly rate will increase from £15.72 to £18.63.

If the required qualification is not achieved, or the outcome of the medical assessment means the requirements of the role cannot be met, this may affect the successful completion of your probation. In these circumstances, Wilson James will review the available options, including consideration of suitable alternative roles at HPC where available and appropriate.
