Working as an Employee Relations Manager you will be responsible for delivering high-quality and consistent Employee Relations advice and support to both employees and managers based at Hinkley Point C.
Reporting to the HR Manager you will lead complex case management, ensuring that organisational risks around people activities are effectively managed and mitigated. You will also collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to support Wilson James.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all complex employee relations cases.
- Leading complex case management ensuring that the organisational risk around people activities are managed and mitigated, working with both internal and external stakeholders to support Wilson James.
- Lead on all aspects of formal employee consultation arising from changes in the organisational structure
- Provide timely and efficient employment law and management advice for all employee related activity, including the management of employee tribunal claims
- Ability to build and maintain successful relationships with key external stakeholders Lead the application of HR policy and practice in line with the relevant labour agreements.
- Take the lead for Wilson James (HPC) in external discussions on the implementation and spirit and intent of the sector agreements and social covenant.
- Ensure Wilson James remains compliant with all the relevant site-specific employment regulations and wider Wilson James policies, including the readiness of our IR Management plan.
- Create and deliver training and information sessions to the operational teams at HPC to ensure the current Industrial Relations landscape on site is understood.
- Liaise with the client Employment Affairs Unit on a regular basis this includes attendance on the LJC meeting
- Manage the provision of IR related information to the client team as required
- Facilitate effective engagement and liaison with delivery partners and trade unions on all workforce issues.
What do we need from you:
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Significant Employee Relations experience in a management role working in an industrial unionised environment.
- Proven track record in large scale projects in the nuclear or similar regulated sector, including major construction projects.
- Ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- An up-to-date knowledge of UK employment legislation.
- A positive and dynamic approach to challenges faced and ability to set high expectations.
- CITB HS&E ops test – must be obtained before start date.
Desirable
- Politically aware - understands the multi stakeholder context in which the role operates and manifests a collaborative approach
- Good client/external body facing experience with excellent working knowledge of the relevant training and funding organisations
- A Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
- Relevant Professional Qualification - preferably CIPD Qualified
- Mediation qualifications
Site Specific Information:
- You must be able to provide a 3-year work/ unemployment/ education history required for the vetting process in line with HPC protocols.
- You must be able to obtain the HPC pass.
- The site is located remotely and a bus journey of 45 minutes each way is required to gain access.
