Health and Safety Advisor

Permanent
Location: Remote – Covering Sites Across Birmingham & Surrounding Northern Areas
Hours: Permanent, Full Time - Monday - Friday
Pay: Competitive + Benefits + Car allowance

Are you passionate about health and safety and ready to make a real difference across our various sites in Birmingham and beyond? We're looking for a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our dedicated H&S team. This role offers the flexibility of remote working while taking a visible, hands-on approach across a variety of live sites.

About the Role:

As a H&S Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Taking an active and visible role within our health and safety team via site visits, safety meetings, and more.
  • Ensuring all accidents and incidents are reported and investigated promptly and thoroughly.
  • Conducting scheduled site inspections and supporting timely resolution of any safety concerns.
  • Championing our accident and incident reduction programme, promoting near miss and hazard reporting using our smart H&S platform.
  • Providing expert advice to WJ staff, clients, and stakeholders on health and safety matters.
  • Supporting company-wide H&S activities including new site mobilisations and events.
  • Delivering health and safety training sessions where required.
  • Assisting the H&S Manager in day-to-day operations and special projects.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong health and safety experience, ideally within the construction sector.
  • Solid understanding of CDM 2015 Regulations and behavioural safety principles.
  • NEBOSH Health & Safety or Construction Certification.
  • Valid CSCS Card and Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A calm and confident approach in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong team player with a high standard of personal presentation and professional reliability.

  • First Aid at Work Certification
