The FOH Officer plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment within building reception and lobby areas. This Officer serves as the first point of contact for staff, visitors, and contractors, combining customer service with core access control and security duties. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, a calm and professional demeanour, and the ability to maintain a visible presence while enforcing security protocols
About the Role:
As a FOH Security Officer! you will be responsible for:
- Provide a visible, professional presence and deliver excellent customer service
- Offer guidance and directions to visitors, ensuring smooth access to buildings and estate facilities.
- Collaborate with other security personnel and estate staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Report hazards, incidents, suspicious activity to the Control Room for appropriate follow-up.
- Uphold all security protocols while maintaining professionalism, vigilance, and discretion.
- Act as the primary point of contact for visitors, contractors, and staff entering the reception area.
- Monitor and control building access, validating identity and confirming authorisation
- Assist with visitor and contractor check-in procedures using access control or booking systems.
Liaise with building reception staff, tenant representatives, and service partners to coordinate access and maintain flow. - Conduct regular patrols of reception and surrounding lobby areas to ensure safety and visibility.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, or emergencies in accordance with site procedures.
- Support fire evacuation procedures and act as a marshal when required.
- Report maintenance or health and safety issues using the building management system.
- Support emergency evacuation or lockdown procedures affecting service areas.
- Maintain high standards of dress, conduct, and communication throughout the shift.
- Follow all relevant Assignment Instructions, Risks Assessment, SOP and policy.

What we are looking for:
- Understanding of the principles of equality and diversity in relation to visitors' needs.
- Valid SIA DS & CCTV licence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
- Strong situational awareness and sound judgement.
- Professional appearance and behaviour.
- Basic IT proficiency (for sign-in systems and incident logging).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in a front-of-house or customer service-based security role (beneficial).
