The FCC Officer plays a vital role in maintaining the safety and operational continuity of the estate's buildings. Based within a dedicated monitoring hub, the FCC Officer is responsible for monitoring security systems, managing key control and equipment handovers, and coordinating with both on-site teams and Control Room personnel. The role demands strong attention to detail, a calm and methodical response to incidents, and accurate record keeping. The FCC Officer acts as an internal communications and safety liaison point for the buildings team.
About the Role:
As a Fire Command Centre Security Officer you will be responsible for:
- Provide a visible, professional presence and deliver excellent customer service during all interactions.
- Offer guidance and directions to visitors, ensuring smooth access to buildings and estate facilities.
- Collaborate with other security personnel and estate staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Report hazards, incidents, suspicious activity, or notable interactions to the Control Room for appropriate logging and follow-up.
- Uphold all security protocols while maintaining professionalism, vigilance, and discretion.
- Monitor CCTV, access control, lift alarms, and life safety systems within the Fire Control Centre.
- Respond promptly to alarm activations and escalate appropriately according to site protocols.
- Track, issue, and recover radios, keys, and security equipment using digital systems.
- Maintain accurate digital logs of all activity within the FCC, including personnel movements, equipment sign-outs, and incidents.
- Liaise with the Control Room to relay updates, escalate alerts, and synchronise responses.
- Verify access permissions for contractors, staff, and visitors when required.
- Identify and troubleshoot minor faults with systems or devices and report larger issues to facilities.

What we are looking for:
- SIA DS & CCTV
- Demonstrate excellent customer service.
- Hold excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to work both day and night shifts.
- Demonstrate the ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure;
- Be physically able to carry out duties.
- Hold a willingness to work cooperatively and constructively with both your peer group and the leadership provided by department supervisors and management.
- Have an ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports where necessary.
- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation.
- Demonstrate reliability including the ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance in order to ensure effectiveness and availability of departmental resources.
