The DTL plays a vital role ensuring security staff are deployed effectively and estate protocols are upheld throughout the shift. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on operational delivery, officer performance, and frontline decision-making. The DTL acts as deputy step up for the DSM and may be required to act as the Incident Control Officer (ICO), should there be more than one incident happening simultaneously. Overseeing incident response, assigning duties, checking uniforms and licences, and serving as the first escalation point for officers. The role requires confident leadership, sound judgement, and the ability to maintain a consistent operational standard across the estate. The highest level of professional standards and consistent approach to ensuring a positive customer experience.
About the Role:
As the Duty Team Leader you will be responsible for:
- Lead direct reports, responsible for their safety, welfare, performance and development
- Provide a visible, professional presence and deliver excellent customer service.
- Collaborate with other security personnel and estate staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Report hazards, incidents, suspicious activity, or notable interactions to the Control Room for appropriate logging and follow-up
- Supervise and coordinate the deployment of on-duty officers, ensuring effective coverage of patrols, static posts, and response roles.
- Monitor officer performance, intervening when standards fall below expectations

What we are looking for:
Essential
- Familiarity with GDPR, evidence handling, and incident audit procedures
- Proven ability to lead people and drive performance
- Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders, law enforcement and emergency services.
- Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills
- Flexible, resilient, and able to perform under pressure
