Hours: Full time, 4 on, 4 off, days 6am - 6pm and nights 6pm - 6am
Pay: £18.00 per hour
The London Museum is one of the United Kingdom's most prestigious cultural institutions - home to world-renowned collections and welcoming visitors from across the globe. At the centre of its safety and security is a highly skilled Control Room operation, providing real-time oversight, coordination, and response across the entire estate.
We are now seeking an exceptional Control Room Supervisor to lead this critical function. This is a high-impact role where leadership, precision, and calm decision-making ensure the protection of people, priceless artefacts, and the Museum's reputation.

About the Role:
You will:
- Lead and supervise the Control Room team, ensuring a professional and effective operation at all times
- Oversee the monitoring of CCTV, alarm systems, fire detection, access control, and other security technologies
- Maintain constant situational awareness across the Museum estate, identifying risks and emerging issues
- Coordinate and direct responses to incidents, alarms, and emergencies in line with procedures
- Allocate tasks, brief teams, and ensure clear communication throughout each shift
- Ensure all incidents, actions, and system activity are accurately recorded and reported
- Support and develop Control Room Operators, promoting high standards and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, Assignment Instructions, legislation, and data protection requirements

What we are looking for:
- Proven experience supervising or leading a security control room or similar monitoring environment
- Valid SIA Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) Licence
- Strong experience using CCTV, alarms, access control, and security monitoring systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage performance, and provide direction during incidents
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including report writing and briefings
- Ability to remain calm, decisive, and professional under pressure while managing multiple priorities
- High level of attention to detail with strong situational awareness
- Competent IT skills, including security systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Experience within a museum, cultural, or visitor attraction environment
- CCTV investigation or behavioural detection experience
- Knowledge of counter-terrorism awareness and security risk indicators
- Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS)
