Location: Site-based at Hinkley Point C, Somerset
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Contracted to 50 hours per week, usual working hours 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: From £77,000.00 per annum, depending on experience

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Construction Logistics Area Lead at Hinkley Point C.

In this role, you will contribute to the effective management of onsite logistics by coordinating end‑to‑end material flows across MEH (Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC) areas. You'll support the final‑mile process, inbound movement of materials, and the governance of control systems, helping ensure the project runs safely and smoothly.

This position is well suited to someone who builds positive relationships, works collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, and enjoys finding practical solutions within a dynamic construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Own the onsite final‑mile logistics interface between inbound flows (IDPA/IDPB) and site-direct deliveries.
  • Oversee delivery sequencing, access readiness and handover quality, reporting L5 performance via Asset Tag data.
  • Provide operational oversight across C2 areas, ensuring material availability and compliance with Max/Min stock controls.
  • Maintain oversight of Building Material Coordinators and ensure consistent application of material control standards.
  • Ensure compliance for PTEC activities, Logistics Stock and Systems, and data accuracy for performance reporting.
  • Act as the primary onsite liaison between IDPA inbound flows and NNB Logistics, aligning delivery priorities.
  • Provide daily Asset Tag-driven operational feedback to Delivery Leads and Construction teams to drive improvement.

 

What we need from you:

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience or strong knowledge of construction activities within plant or trade environments.
  • Ability to lead, influence and manage stakeholder relationships, modelling the HPC Way.
  • Strong leadership capability with relevant training or qualifications.
  • Proven ability to drive operational standards and compliance.
  • Experience engaging within fast-paced operational hubs (e.g., War Rooms, Pulse meetings).
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication and relationship-building skills.

Essential Qualifications

  • Level 5 Leadership, CMI or trade equivalent
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Change Management qualification (APMG)
  • Risk management qualification
  • Project management qualification (PRINCE2 or equivalent)
  • Ability to obtain security clearance (BPSS or higher)
  • Construction trade background (essential to understand onsite challenges)

 

Desirable

  • Previous HPC/NNB site experience
  • Experience with internal systems and processes

 

Site Requirements

  • Ability to provide a 3‑year work/education/unemployment history for vetting
  • Ability to obtain an HPC site pass
  • Willingness to travel via a bus journey of approximately 45‑minute to/from site
