We are looking for an experienced and proactive Building Logistics Lead to join our leadership team at Hinkley Point C, supporting one of the UK's largest and most complex infrastructure projects.
You will be accountable for the successful delivery of construction logistics services within designated building areas, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant movement of materials, consumables, and equipment across a fast‑moving nuclear construction environment. You will already be an experienced senior manager, capable of leading large teams, managing complex stakeholder interfaces, and delivering logistics solutions to critical programme milestones.
This role requires a strong understanding of large‑scale construction logistics, the ability to operate within a highly regulated environment, and the leadership capability to deliver a consistently high‑quality service aligned with nuclear safety and compliance standards.
About the Role
As a Building Logistics Lead, you will:
- Lead and deliver all aspects of construction logistics within your allocated building or area of responsibility
- Establish, manage and continuously improve a cohesive building logistics service in support of construction delivery teams
- Lead teams of Building Logistics Managers and Supervisors, ensuring effective performance, capability and accountability
- Interface closely with Construction Area Leads, Building Leads, and other workstreams to ensure integrated planning and delivery
- Resource, recruit, train and deploy logistics teams to meet changing project demands
- Develop, implement and maintain key documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments and Method Statements
- Coordinate procurement planning and requisitions for logistics equipment and consumables
- Monitor performance and provide agreed management reporting to senior stakeholders
- Lead on HR / IR compliance, performance management, absence management and formal HR processes where required
- Act as the principal escalation point for operational, HR and IR matters within your area
- Identify and implement operational best practice and innovation to support project efficiency
- Ensure full compliance with HSE standards, site rules and safe systems of work
- Lead incident investigations, ensure reporting is completed, and initiate safety stand‑downs where appropriate
- Maintain daily engagement with construction building managers to ensure logistics services support programme priorities

What We Need From You
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Lead with integrity and inclusivity, promoting a strong safety culture across multiple teams
- Proven experience managing fast‑moving and complex operational environments
- Able to coordinate multiple teams across geographically separated work areas
- Strong capability in operational planning, stakeholder management and service delivery
- Produce clear, concise plans, reports, documentation and presentations
- Demonstrate a flexible, solutions‑focused mindset in a changing and pressured environment
- Excellent verbal communication, IT and written skills
Desirable:
- Experience within the nuclear industry, power generation, or heavy construction environments
- Exposure to mechanical & electrical material logistics or large‑scale construction logistics operations
Qualifications
Essential:
- Valid Passport
- CITB HSE Test (Manager & Professional Standard)
- SMSTS or equivalent construction qualification
Desirable:
- Higher Education Certificate or Degree
- NEBOSH or equivalent safety qualification
- Driving Licence
Site Requirements
- Ability to provide a minimum 3‑year employment history for vetting
- Ability to obtain and maintain an HPC site pass
- Willingness to travel via approximately 45‑minute bus journey to site each day
- On‑site role operating a 9‑day fortnight rota (subject to change)
