The Buildings Duty Shift Manager (DSM) is responsible for the leadership and operational delivery of all security functions within designated buildings at King's Cross Estate during their shift. The DSM provides direct management of Buildings Security Officers, ensuring high standards of safety, professionalism, operational performance, and customer service are consistently maintained. The DSM acts as the senior operational security representative within buildings during their shift and assumes the role of Incident Control Officer (ICO) for incidents within their area of responsibility
About the Role:
As a Buildings Portfolio Manager! you will be responsible for:
- Ensure effective deployment of Buildings Security Officers across all assigned positions within the buildings, including response functions.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence within buildings, providing guidance and direction to officers.
- Conduct structured shift briefings, operational updates, and handovers
- Lead and coordinate responses to incidents including fire alarms and evacuations, medical emergencies, security breaches, suspicious activity, public safety incidents.
- Ensure effective implementation of life safety procedures and emergency protocols.
- Providing coaching, guidance, and operational support
- Participating in investigations or disciplinary processes where required
- Build positive relationships with building management, estate teams, and occupiers
- Ensure all officers are fully trained and operate in accordance with Assignment Instructions, Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments, Estate and customer policies.

What we are looking for:
- Excellent communication skills, including executive-level reporting and briefing
- SIA – DS/SG
- Excellent customer service
- Experience supervising security teams within a complex operational environment
- Proven ability to lead people, drive performance and maintain professional standards
- Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders, law enforcement and emergency services.
- Calm and confident incident management
- High standards of integrity and conduct
- Strong situational awareness and risk assessment
