Are you a skilled Bid Writer with a talent for transforming complex ideas into compelling, client-focused narratives? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where precision, collaboration, and creativity come together to win high-impact contracts?

At Wilson James, we are expanding our Bid Solutions team and are looking for a proactive, articulate, and highly organised Bid Writer to help us drive success across some of the UK's most dynamic sectors.

About the Role:

You'll play a central role in creating persuasive, high-quality proposals that showcase our service excellence across aviation, infrastructure, and security. Working within cross-functional “win teams,” you'll collaborate with subject matter experts, operational leads, and creative colleagues to craft responses that make a real impact.

What you will be doing:

• Authoring clear, compelling, and compliant content tailored to client needs and sector standards.

• Translating technical and operational inputs into structured, persuasive narratives.

• Supporting bid strategies, win themes, and value propositions from kickoff to submission.

• Writing, editing, and proofreading bid responses with meticulous attention to detail.

• Managing timelines and contributing to a best-in-class bid content library.

• Collaborating with design teams to elevate your words through infographics and layouts.

• Participating in site visits and lessons learned reviews to continuously improve our approach.

What we are looking for:

• Proven experience in bid or proposal writing, ideally within aviation, infrastructure, or security sectors.

• Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for structure and clarity.

• Familiarity with public/private sector procurement processes (RFI, PQQ, ITT).

• Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure without compromising on quality.

• Strong organisational skills and self-motivation, paired with excellent stakeholder communication.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Adobe InDesign experience is a bonus.

• A sharp attention to detail and a passion for producing high-impact written content.
