We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Assistant Training Manager at Hinkley Point C.
Please note that this role is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.
As a Assistant Training Manager, you will support the coordination, administration, and delivery of all Wilson James and site‑specific training requirements at Hinkley Point C. Reporting to the HR Manager, this on‑site role is responsible for providing training‑related advice and guidance, ensuring effective communication and liaison across internal teams and with approved local training providers.
The Assistant Training Manager will organise and support training programmes, manage logistics, and coordinate the enrolment of delegates onto required training and development courses. The role plays a key part in ensuring that all training activity is delivered efficiently, accurately recorded, and aligned with site and organisational standards.

- Shift pattern of an average of 39 hours a week. Working 9 days a fortnight working Monday to Thursday for one week and Monday to Friday for another)

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support the site's training department, ensuring effective coordination of all training activities.
- Oversee smooth and accurate registration for all candidates attending courses and programmes.
- Compile, analyse, and report on training activity, including training plans and performance metrics.
- Work closely with the On‑boarding and HR teams to ensure compliance with Competence and Qualification requirements.
- Create, update, and maintain Learning and Development (L&D) materials, documentation, and reports as required.
- Ensure compliance with mandatory training standards and maintain the Wilson James training matrix.
- Produce training and development reports to support Personal Development Plans (PDPs).
- Raise and manage purchase order requests for training and required support materials.
- Liaise with external training providers to forward‑plan requirements and maintain smooth delivery.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with the Wilson James L&D Team and support central L&D initiatives.
What we need from you:
Essential:
- NVQ Assessor Qualification or Delivery in Training qualification
- Use of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Excel and Word
- Previous experience of having coordinated:
- Large volumes of training
- Highly regulated compliance based training
- Training within a matrix organisation
- Skilled at developing strong relationships within large organisations
- CITB Operative H&S test (must be complete before start date)
Desirable:
- Mentoring and coaching qualification
- Mental Health First Aider qualification
- HPC pass holder and knowledge of HPC site
What we are looking for:
- Previous experience of having coordinated onboarding or training
- Experience of working within large organisations with the skill to build and develop robust relationships internally and externally
- Good working knowledge of IT and Microsoft packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc)
- Presentation and training delivery skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Can do attitude and willingness to learn
- Presentation and workshop-leading abilities
- Providing clear training data to key stakeholders
- Construction experience
Site Specific Information
- You must be able to provide a 3-year work/ unemployment/ education history and required vetting process in line with HPC protocols
- You must be able to obtain the HPC pass
- The site is located remotely and a bus journey of 45 minutes each way is required to gain access
- This role is based on site and is currently operating a 9-day fortnight rota (subject to change
